Here it is Thursday morning the 17th of November and we are just days away from Christmas Preview. The students have been working on paintings for our winter show in the studio and the big group project for the window. I think this is going to be the best Christmas Preview of them all. I'm excited for Sunday and our BIG event. I've really enjoyed putting this one together. We started planning and preparing for it back in July. Many of the students did their Christmas paintings early to ensure they would be done on time. The big 40 x 60 group painting will be raffled off at the end of Christmas Preview. Come in and buy your tickets early or wait for the event.

Here are a few pictures of the progress on the Christmas Preview painting my studio kids are doing this year. There are 13 students working on this painting. Each one is assigned a special part of it. The images below show Ciena, Valerie and Karli working on their portion.
The Christmas season arrived so fast this year! Or maybe it just feels that way because Art E Studio has been so busy with many projects this year, just as one ends a new one begins. We are working on our last project for the year, the CN&R newspaper stand, and its coming along beautifully (see Current and Past Events on this website).
Many of the students have created Holiday paintings this year that turned out wonderful. Mikealah's 16x20 Santa painting was photographed by Charlie Osborn from www.dstudio.us for her family to use as their Christmas cards. Haylee is working hard on finishing her Santa painting, (see "Featured Artist Work In Progress" on this website to view her progress). 2010 has been a great year for Art E Studio. All the goals that were set for this year have been met and most far exceeded the desired outcome. One of the new additions to the studio is this website and blog. I'm very happy with it. I have very little computer training and knowledge, www.weebly.com has made it easy and fun and the best part it's free. This tool has enabled me to post photos of the many events we, the Art E students and I, have enjoyed this year. Please take your time to view all the pages on this website to get to know us better. Plans for the 2011 year are already in place. But before we head into the new year I want to wish all of my very talented students and their families a very Merry Christmas. Every single one of you have enriched my life and have given me the great honor of helping you grow as artists. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be your teacher. I'm so very proud of each and everyone of you, that goes for all the children, teenagers and adults. May you all have the best this Holiday season will bring. |
