                       Christmas Preview 2010

I gave the girls the task of coming up with this years theme, they chose "Shoes", isn't that just like a girl. We decided on a background color of deep red. Each student will paint two pairs of shoes, with the exception of Sarah, who will be painting a shoe box in the lower right hand corner. The shoes will be painted randomly in all directions. The styles will vary, reflecting each personality. Some of the girls will be painting in the window as our Christmas display on the night of Christmas Preview. Once again, we will be selling raffle tickets for the completed painting.

Nov 21, 2010. Christmas preview was a great success. We had fewer student participation then the last couple of years and fewer spectators and yet we managed quite well. Annie, the youngest oil painting student, spent the entire evening painting in the window. She had informed me the night before she was to scared to paint in front of people and didn't want to be in the window. Mimi helped her get over her fears fast and the two girls had a blast. Annie had so much fun I couldn't get her to take a break.

This year I added the last five sets of my Christmas Stockings I designed and created to the raffle. The winner of this years painting is Tanya Smith, the mother of Tiana one of my students. That makes two years in a row that a mom has won the big prize.
