Jenny is creating a couple of paintings using sand mixed with gesso as a base for building up her image. This technique is a great way to get a 3D effect on a 2D surface. For this technique Jenny starts with her drawing and decides what part of the subject will get the sand gesso.
Her finished piece will go into the "Small world, Small Works" show at the Chico Art center, Nov 2010.
