Here are a few pictures of the progress on the Christmas Preview painting my studio kids are doing this year. There are 13 students working on this painting. Each one is assigned a special part of it. The images below show Ciena, Valerie and Karli working on their portion.

2010 ended well and 2011 is starting off nicely. Art E Studio is busier then ever. More and more people are discovering their passion for art and the desire to paint. To start the New Year off right Art E Studio has a new look. The classroom has more room and better storage for art supplies.
Chico News & Review came by to photograph the newspaper box that was painted by seven of the after school students. The theme we picked was "Under the Sea". You can see this newspaper box right out side of Art Etc the next time you're in for your framing needs. I divided the box into seven sections, giving each student their own area to work on and what a beautiful job they did. To view their progress go to the "Current and Past Events" section of this website and be sure to watch for their picture in the CN&R in the next few weeks. The Christmas season arrived so fast this year! Or maybe it just feels that way because Art E Studio has been so busy with many projects this year, just as one ends a new one begins. We are working on our last project for the year, the CN&R newspaper stand, and its coming along beautifully (see Current and Past Events on this website).
Many of the students have created Holiday paintings this year that turned out wonderful. Mikealah's 16x20 Santa painting was photographed by Charlie Osborn from www.dstudio.us for her family to use as their Christmas cards. Haylee is working hard on finishing her Santa painting, (see "Featured Artist Work In Progress" on this website to view her progress). 2010 has been a great year for Art E Studio. All the goals that were set for this year have been met and most far exceeded the desired outcome. One of the new additions to the studio is this website and blog. I'm very happy with it. I have very little computer training and knowledge, www.weebly.com has made it easy and fun and the best part it's free. This tool has enabled me to post photos of the many events we, the Art E students and I, have enjoyed this year. Please take your time to view all the pages on this website to get to know us better. Plans for the 2011 year are already in place. But before we head into the new year I want to wish all of my very talented students and their families a very Merry Christmas. Every single one of you have enriched my life and have given me the great honor of helping you grow as artists. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be your teacher. I'm so very proud of each and everyone of you, that goes for all the children, teenagers and adults. May you all have the best this Holiday season will bring. Yes It's that time of year again. The seasons are changing so fast it amazes me. Thanksgiving is just a few short weeks away and before that It's Christmas Preview. This event is Downtown Chico's official kickoff to the season in a tradition of holiday hospitality. This years event is on Sunday, November 21st from 4-8pm. Many storefronts will have live entertainment in their windows including Art Etc. My students are working on a large canvas, preparing it for their live demo as the widow display that evening.
This is a fun "FREE" event for the entire family. Here are a few things you will see. Special “on-street” attractions include:
Today I have kicked into "high gear". I'm working on two events at the same time. The events are on two separate, back to back weekends and both require a lot of "attention to detail" by me.
The first event is "Chico Palio" on the 25th of September. This all day event is the "Artober Fest" kick off. You can read more about all the activities on http://www.artoberfest.org/. I have signed up for a booth to help promote my art school, Art E Studio. Some of my teenage students will be helping me out by showing their art work and talking about how they created them. We will be having an art project for anyone who wishes to participate. We will be creating ATCs (Art Trading Cards) with watercolor paint and color pencils. The event is from 10am to 3pm. If you are Downtown that day stop by our booth and say Hi. The second event is "Open Art Studio Tour" here is the web site for this event http://www.chicoartcenter.com/gallery/upcoming-exhibits.htm. My studio is #41 in the tour guide. I have lots of new work on the walls to show you. Along with prints, art cards, and my miniature paintings. I've been cleaning and organizing my studio on the free moments that come up. Both the events are very exciting. There will be lots of art and artists throughout the month of October. Something for everyone to see and enjoy. |
