                                   Chico Palio 2010

I made a quick last minuet decision to get a booth for Art E Studio at the Chico Palio event. I was a bit nervous about having enough time to put it all together. But with a lot of help from my students and the loan of the easy up and display panels from Anna and Dave Simcox (owners of Art Etc) everything went pretty smooth. A great big thank you to Charlie for all his help with transporting, set up and take down of the booth. Thank you to Jenny for her wonderful idea of having tee shirts made for the event. Also thank you Sarah, Sura, Mckynna, Haylee, Jenny, Klara, Tatum, Tiana and to little Annie who all helped me with the booth.

With all my "Thank yous" out of the way I'll tell you what we did in our booth. I brought watercolor paints, brushes and watercolor paper cut to 2.5 x 3.5 inches. This tiny size format is called ATC (Art Trading Cards). Anyone and everyone who came to our booth was encouraged to paint a card. Many small children joined in the fun and didn't want to leave. Part of the fun we had was trading our ATCs with each other. I have a very nice collection of tiny masterpieces by some of Chico's most talented up and coming artists. I also purchased a square from "pastels in the plaza" for some of my students to have fun with. They did a very nice job recreating the Art E Studio logo and added special touches of paint tubes, brushes and a palette.

We had so much fun with the day's activities we are talking about next years event.
